Description
Namaqualand Klipkoppe Shrubland, on flats in coarse granitic sand near granite outcrops.
Threats
Part of this species' habitat has been ploughed for crop cultivation in the past, however, the land is only marginally suitable for cultivation and it is not an ongoing threat. Further sporadic loss to crop cultivation however remains a potential threat.
Population

This species is known from only one subpopulation, but occurs in a remote and botanically poorly explored area. In addition, Eriospermum species are severely undersampled, as plants are cryptic, and leaves and flowers appear separately. Therefore it is highly likely that more subpopulations exist elsewhere in similar, suitable habitat.
