Justification
Eriospermum viscosum is a rare and localized species, known from two locations. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1360 km², and is declining due to ongoing habitat degradation. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion B.

Description
It occurs in arid shale in karroid shrubland.
Threats
There is ongoing degradation of this species' habitat as a result of overgrazing and trampling by livestock. Mining also poses an additional threat.

Eriospermum viscosum is a rare species, known from only a few collections. It occurs in small, scattered subpopulations.
