Justification
This geophyte has a very limited distribution EOO 800 km². Over 75% of its habitat has been lost to ploughing for wheat over the past 70 years. This loss has taken place in less than three generations of this slow growing species (generation length estimated to be 30 years).

Description
Dwyka tillite clays.
Threats
Agriculture (ploughing) in the past. This species is limited to tillite renosterveld and has lost up to 75% of its habitat (Unpublished Nieuwoudtville Conservation Farming data; Todd 2003).
