Justification
Only known from the type, which was collected prior to 1925. Not enough is known about the distribution and population of this species to determine its status. If it is confined to the Stilbaai area it is likely to be very threatened or even extinct.

Notes
This taxon was included under the widespread and common Jordaaniella dubia in a 1984 revision of the genus (Hartmann 1984), but reinstated in 2001 because plants of both species in cultivation at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden do not interbreed (Van Jaarsveld 2001). Due to the taxonomic problems the species remains poorly known and there are no recent collections or observations of plants in the wild to determine the status of the population.
