Justification
Pelargonium nephrophyllum has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 11 km². Five known remaining locations are declining due to ongoing habitat loss for vineyard and wheat cultivation. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion B.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found in flats southeast of Vanrhynsdorp.

Description
It occurs in succulent karoo, on sandy and stony lower slopes and flats, which become temporarily inundated during infrequent heavy winter rainfall.
Threats
This highly range-restricted species' habitat is impacted by crop cultivation and livestock grazing, 33% has already been ploughed, and significant loss continues (8% was lost between 1990 and 2014). One of the largest subpopulations, of the few known, was recently ploughed and turned into a wheat field (Craib 2001).
