Justification
This is a rare, range-restricted species that has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 6067 km². It is known from only four locations that are declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Description
It occurs in sour grassland, well-drained, open areas on margins of vleis.
Threats
At least 45% of this species' habitat has already been irreversibly modified. It has lost habitat to timber plantations and mining in the mountains above Barberton, and to crop cultivation around Dundee. Urban and agricultural expansion continues around Dundee (about 9% habitat loss in 24 years). It is also threatened by habitat degradation due to overgrazing around Dundee.
Population

This species is known from only four locations in South Africa and three in Swaziland. The population continues to decline due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.
