Description
Pebble-strewn loamy soils in Swellendam Silcrete Fynbos.
Threats
Less than 50% of this species' habitat remains intact, predominantly after losses to agricultural expansion. It continues to be threatened by urban expansion around Swellendam, and further expansion of crop fields around Buffeljagsrivier.
Population

Recent field observations indicate that there are between seven and nine remaining subpopulations of this species, the largest consisting of between 50 and 100 mature individuals, and six of these are confined to isolated fragments and road verges. The population is estimated to number fewer than 700 mature individuals and continues to decline due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.
