Assessor(s) | D.A. Snijman & D. Raimondo |
Justification | A widespread species (EOO 36 000 km²) occurring in the moist, subalpine grasslands of the Eastern Cape. Around 15% of the grassland within this subspecies' range has been irreversibly transformed to crops and plantations and a further 30% has been severely degraded as a result of overgrazing. As subpopulations occur sparsely within this habitat we suspect a 22% habitat loss over 60 years (generation length is suspected to be 20 years). |
