South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape

Stanford to Gansbaai.
Habitat and Ecology

Description
Sandy slopes in coastal fynbos.
Threats
The only known subpopulation is currently protected within a private nature reserve, but it is likely to be more common, but overlooked at least in the immediate area, as it is a short-lived fire ephemeral. Within this area it is potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants and habitat loss to coastal development. It is likely to be overlooked in Environmental Impact Surveys as it only appears after fires.
Population

This species was locally abundant after a fire at the only known location in February 2006, but disappeared in subsequent years. It is quite likely more widespread, but overlooked.
