Justification
This extremely localized species' entire population of less than 400 plants is confined to an area of 44 hectares. None of its habitat is formally conserved and a population reduction of 90% is expected to be met within the next 10 years due to habitat loss to development and mining.

Description
Rocky limestone outcrops in Saldanha Limestone Strandveld, a rare coastal vegetation type restricted to the Vredenburg Peninsula.
Threats
Habitat loss to mining and development.
Population

This species is extremely localized, with the entire population of about 400 plants occurring within an area of 44 ha. The largest clump of about 300 plants occurs on land earmarked for limestone mining, while three other clumps of about 10 plants each occur on three separate properties, two of which are likely to be developed in the near future. These four clumps are close enough together to be considered a single subpopulation. Searches in similar habitat nearby by a local volunteer of the Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) Programme have thus far failed to locate more subpopulations. Flowering is stimulated by good rainfall, and population estimates were made during a year of good rainfall.
