Justification
This species is widespread and not threatened. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 265 579 km² and is known from over 30 subpopulations. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is widespread in the arid of interior of South Africa, found across north-eastern Northern Cape and stretching into the western Free State. The distribution extends throughout Namibia and into Angola.

Description
It is found on flat sandy or stony places, or sometimes on rocky slopes.
Threats
A. hereroensis is very widespread in an arid, remote part of South Africa where land use impacts on the natural vegetation is minimal.

This species is widespread and common. It is known from between 30 and 35 subpopulations and has a stable trend.
