Justification
Isolepis sororia is a widespread, but very poorly known species that is possibly overlooked, and more common than records suggest. It is not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 23 574 km², and is listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and occurs from the Little Karoo and eastern Overberg in the Western Cape to Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape.

Description
It grows in moist depressions in shallow soils at the margins of seasonal streams.
Threats
Isolepis sororia has lost more than 30% of its habitat to crop cultivation and urban expansion. Habitat loss and degradation continues, particularly in the eastern Overberg, where there has been significant expansion of crop fields over the past 30 years.
Population

This is a widespread, but localized habitat specialist that is easily overlooked. It is known from only a few records, but likely to be more common. This species is an annual, and may be resilient to disturbance. The impact of ongoing habitat loss and degradation on the population is not known.
