EOO<15 000 km², known from fewer than 20 locations. Declining due to crop cultivation, coastal and urban development, livestock overgrazing and alien plant invasion.

Description
Seasonally waterlogged habitats, over a wide range of soils including shale or acid coastal sands.
Threats
Habitat destruction due to agriculture and urban development e.g. Durbanville, Strand Gordon's Bay and on the Agulhas plain etc - past, present and future moderate to severe threat throughout range. Seasonal wet habitats are being drained for agriculture, this is a moderate, past present and future threat to this species. Alien invasion is a threat in many habitats, Acacia saligna (moderate to severe). Grazing and trampling in certain areas is a moderate, past present and future. Alien grasses are an additional threat to this species e.g. lolium.
