Justification
A range-restricted species (EOO 689 km²), known from nine locations and declining due to habitat loss to crop cultivation and overgrazing.

Description
Heavy loamy soils, with renosterbos, absent from sandstone-derived soils.
Threats
This species occurs on the arid margins of the fynbos biome, and although only marginally suitable to agriculture, this species' habitat of nutrient richer clay soils are occasionally ploughed. Some locations are also subjected to overgrazing. A number of subpopulations on rocky mountain slopes are however not under any threat.
