A localized species (EOO 23 km²), known from two locations and declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation as well as competition from alien invasive plants.

Description
Steep, moist shale slopes.
Threats
This species has lost most of its habitat in the Elgin Valley to orchards, and only small fragments remain. Agricultural expansion continues, and remaining subpopulations are also threatened by competition from alien invasive plants and a lack of fire. Near Houw Hoek it is threatened by competition from alien invasive plants.
