Justification | Anisodontea malvastroides is widespread in the mountains between Beaufort West and Middelburg, and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 7658 km². It is a localized habitat specialist, but has no severe threats and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is listed under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally recognised as Rare. |

Population |
This species is known from scattered subpopulations localized to cliffs. Herbarium specimen notes that it is locally abundant on cliffs or summit plateaus. As there are no severe threats to this species, it is not suspected to be declining.
