Justification
This species has a restricted range in South Africa, with a national extent of occurrence (EOO) of 13 300 km², but it has been recorded from many locations. It is possibly threatened by habitat loss, degradation and biological resource use in parts of its range, but no significant population decline has been reported or is suspected. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Description
It is found in riverine thicket and coastal bush on deep sandy soils near the coast, 0-600 m.
Threats
This species is used in traditional medicine, and wood is used for construction materials (Boon 2010).
Population

Land cover data shows no significant habitat loss over three generations. No significant population decline is suspected.
