Clay pans in open grassland.
Threats
Areas surrounding salt pans near Welkom are increasingly degraded due to urban and industrial expansion, mining, agriculture, alien invasive plants and pollution.
Population

This taxon is known from only one collection, dating from 1978. Surveys of the type locality and other similar habitat in the area are needed to relocate it in the wild, and to more accurately determine the size and status of the population.
