Justification
Know only from the type specimen, collected in 1940. Its habitat at the type locality is severely degraded due to overgrazing, erosion and bush encroachment.

Description
Sandy loams in thornveld.
Threats
Severely threatened by habitat degradation due to over grazing by livestock, erosion and bush encroachment (Hahn 2013).
Population

This species is only known from the type collection, dating from 1940. Searches of the type locality have thus far failed to relocate this species in the wild (Hahn 2013). It occurs in a remote and botanically poorly explored area, and may be overlooked.
