A range-restricted species (EOO 299 km²) known from two collections.

Description
Montane grasslands, grows in shallow soils on shale outcrops, 1600-2200 m.
Threats
No serious threats. Wakkerstroom Montane Grassland has been classified as Least Threatened (Rouget et al. 2004). Impacts from agriculture is very low (Mucina and Rutherford 2006), and grasslands are mostly used for light grazing.
