Justification
EOO 360 km², AOO <42 km², known from less than five, severely fragmented subpopulations. Historically recorded from Kentani in the Eastern Cape, but not recorded there for over 100 years. Declining in KwaZulu-Natal due to urban expansion and habitat degradation as a result of overgrazing and too frequent fire.

Description
Sandstone grasslands, on deeper soils on top of sandstone plateaus.
Threats
Sandstone plateaux grasslands within the known range of this species is ± 55% transformed (estimated using GIS), mainly due to urban development and crop cultivation, and forestry plantations. Cultivation, mainly of sugarcane, and forestry is no longer expanding in these areas, however, most sites are severely threatened by ongoing urban expansion. Overgrazing and too frequent fire is a threat on the Ozwatini Plateau.
