Justification
This species is assessed as Endangered under the B criterion as it is a rarely collected, range-restricted species that is declining due to severe overgrazing. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2061 km², and area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². The species is found in only three locations, none of which fall within the protected areas network. Further research is necessary to monitor the health of the population and to ensure this species does not become increasingly threatened with extinction.

Description
Plants grow in rocky slopes in arid succulent karoo shrubland.
Threats
This species is threatened across its range by severe overgrazing.
Population

The population is suspected to be declining due to severe overgrazing as all the sites where it has historically been collected are under severe grazing pressure. This is a rare and poorly known species, collected only four times with the most recent collection made in 1980. It is known from only three locations within a limited area. More surveys are needed to more accurately determine the size and current status of the population.
