Montane grassland, short, sloping sub-alpine and alpine grasslands and gravel beds on summits, 2400-3000 m.
Threats
This species is possibly threatened by overgrazing. There is a current and possible future loss of habitat in the Eastern Cape due to soil erosion and trampling by livestock (Clinton Carbutt 2004).
