Justification
EOO 16 116 km², known to be extant at ± 10 locations, however this is a cryptic species flowering only after fire, and is therefore likely to be under-collected. There is a continuing decline due to crop cultivation, urban expansion and encroachment by invasive alien plants.

Description
Seasonally wet areas on sandy flats, sea level to 1000 m.
Threats
Alien invasive wattles threaten lowland subpopulations around Pella and Mamre and the subpopulations at Betty's Bay. Agriculture has probably led to decline of populations around Clanwilliam and Nieuwoudtville. Urban expansion has led to past declines in and around Cape Town.
