Threats
Coastal development, which is spreading rapidly along the Cape south coast, is probably threatening this species, as with many other coastal lowland species. However, only one known location around Hermanus have likely been lost to development. Agricultural activities have led to the fragmentation of populations into small remnant patches of natural vegetation around Bredasdorp.
Population

Population trend
Decreasing
Conservation
It is conserved in Cape Point National Park and De Hoop Nature Reserve.
