Justification
Although this species lowland subpopulations have declined in the past, now known from seven subpopulations. Enough subpopulations remain in protected mountain habitats, and it is not expected to decline further. Subpopulations are typically small.

Description
Sandy areas, flats and mountain slopes, up to 1000 m.
Threats
Some of the habitat of this species has probably been transformed, but not currently declining.
Population

Subpopulations are small (Linder 1981, Liltved and Johnson, unpubl.), Kogelberg: ca 50 plants (Bytebier 2001), Betty's Bay - populations of 10-30 plants.
