Justification
EOO < 16 000 km², suspected to occur at 10-15 locations. It has been collected numerous times but is rarely seen today, an indication that the population has declined. Loss has been the result of afforestation, urban expansion and alien plant invasion, decline is ongoing.
Distribution

Description
Crest of the escarpment in damp grassland and swamps, 1000-1300 m.
Threats
According to Doug McMurtry, this species only occurs in highly pristine wetlands (always found growing in association with Sphagnum spp. - a moss species used as indicator of undisturbed wetlands), and any disturbance to the wetland - drainage, eutrophication or invasive species, even trampling by cattle causes this species to disappear from the wetland. Around Dullstroom the development of golf estates and trout dams have led to the disturbance of many wetlands (D. McMurtry pers. comm.).
