Justification
A habitat specialist known from two subpopulations from the southern Drakensberg. The area in which the species occurs has not been thoroughly explored, and it is quite possible that it may be more common than the few herbarium records suggest. Not threatened.

High altitude grasslands near streams, 2000 m.
Threats
Unknown. Large sections of the lower slopes of the Drakensberg within the described distribution area of this species is degraded as a result of overgrazing and erosion, but it is not know whether this has caused population decline.
