Range | This species occurs along the Limpopo and Mpumalanga escarpment from the Wolkberg to Barberton, as well as in the coastal forests in Maputaland. The distribution extends northwards to Kenya and Tanzania. |

Threats |
There is ongoing loss and degradation of this species' habitat in places, predominantly due to expanding rural settlements in the Lowveld and on the Maputaland coastal plain. Subpopulations in the mountains near Barberton and within the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park are however not declining. |

This is a rare species occurring in low densities (Johnson and Bytebier 2015).
