Justification
Although this species has lost many lowland sites, it is still widespread in mountainous areas and has many records from the Hottentots Holland, the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains as well as a disjunct record from the Cederberg. Known from more than 20 subpopulations, it is not threatened.

Description
Lowland and mountain fynbos.
Threats
Urban expansion and crop cultivation has resulted in loss of lowland sites on the Cape Flats and the Agulhas Plain, this species is also threatened by invasive alien plants especially in the eastern part of its range.
