Description
High altitudes in enclaves of Stinkfonteinberge Quartzite Fynbos. Often found growing alongside or under bushes of small Pteronia species.
Threats
This species occurs mostly on upper slopes, where the grazing pressure is currently low. However, as rangelands on the plains and closer to settlements are becoming increasingly degraded, herders are starting to move their livestock into the mountains in search of grazing. This subspecies is potentially vulnerable to increasing grazing pressure.
