Justification
Although this species is a narrow endemic to the Bokkeveld Plateau it is a weedy annual that flourishes in disturbed areas, the population consists of hundreds of thousands of plants.

Threats
Some of this species' habitat is used for cultivation, but since this species is favoured by disturbance, agricultural activities is likely to increase the population. It is also resilient to grazing, and can still be found in heavily overgrazed areas.

A range-restricted, but locally extremely abundant species.
