Description
It occurs in sandy loam or clay soils in renosterveld, succulent karoo and fynbos.
Threats
Heliophila seselifolia has no severe threats. Field observations indicate that it persists in heavily grazed areas.
Population

Subpopulations tend to be small and localized, but this species is common, with more than 100 subpopulations recorded. No significant population decline is suspected as it is resilient to disturbance and grazing.
