Description
Limestone fynbos, on hills and calcareous dunes below 100 m.
Threats
Coastal development is likely to be causing a continuing decline in habitat and number of locations. One known site near Gansbaai has been recorded during an EIA survey (R. Koopman pers. comm.) Alien invasive plants are threatening subpopulations on the Agulhas Plain as well in the Potberg area of De Hoop Nature Reserve. Near Stilbaai vegetation disturbance to enhance the growth of thatch (Thamnochortus spp.) is a potential threat where sandy soils overlay limestone.
