Description | It occurs in rocky, shallow sandy or clay soils on lower slopes in arid fynbos and succulent karoo. |
Threats |
This taxon is most common in Apronveld, a habitat that is severely degraded due to overgrazing over most of the Little Karoo, and it is often grazed by game and livestock (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok 2010). |
Population |
It is is locally common in suitable habitat (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok 2010). The population trend is not known. It is possibly declining due to overgrazing in parts of its range.
