Justification
A range-restricted, alpine species known only from altitudes above 1 550 m (EOO 245 km²). Not threatened.

Description
Alpine habitats, dolerite cliffs on damp dolerite slopes above 1 550 m.
Threats
Forestry plantations have possibly led to past loss of habitat on both the Amathole Mountains and on the Katberg. Invasive alien plants are a slight potential threat on the Katberg as there are Acacia mearnsii infestation in some areas, although at present these are not directly affecting the mountain summits where this species occurs. There are no threats to the subpopulations on the Elandsberg in the Hogsback area.
