Justification
Restricted to a 51 km² area on the Bokkeveld Escarpment. This long-lived resprouter (generation length at least 50 years) has lost at least 30% of its habitat to crop cultivation. Currently, three small subpopulations remain, consisting of fewer than 250 mature individuals, and threatened by overgrazing.

Description
Transition soil between sandstone and tillite clays, on flat ground. This species also occurs on dolerite soils.
Threats
This species has lost at least 30% of its habitat to wheat cultivation, resulting in the fragmentation and isolation of small subpopulations. Remaining subpopulations are threatened by grazing.
Population

All subpopulations are highly localized and typically consist of fewer than 250 plants.
