Population |
This species is known from a single, localized subpopulation, where it is locally common in suitable habitat (Manning and Goldblatt 2012). It was discovered during a detailed survey of the Swartruggens, in an area that remains otherwise botanically poorly explored. Further surveys may indicate that it is under-collected and more widespread than currently known.
