Berkheya cardopatifolia is a widespread species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 81 655 km². It has no severe threats and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and occurs in the Western and Northern Cape provinces, from the foothills of the Roggeveld Escarpment to Laingsburg and the Upper Karoo.

Description
It occurs on dry hillsides and cliffs in grassland and karroid shrubland.
Threats
There are no severe threats to Berkheya cardopatifolia. It occurs mostly on arid mountain slopes that are not extensively utilised.
Population

Subpopulations of this species are large and dense. It is not suspected to be declining.
