Justification
A rare species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 508 km², known from about nine subpopulations. It is not threatened and therefore, not suspected to be in danger of extinction. Consequently, it is listed under the IUCN 3.1 criteria as Least Concern but is nationally recognised as Rare.

This species occurs on the Klein and Groot Swartberg Mountains in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It occurs on high altitude sandstone slopes.
Threats
While some invasive alien species occur within this species' range, the high altitude slopes have not been impacted.

The population is inferred to be stable due to the lack of threats on the high altitude slopes.
