Justification
This Cape endemic has a limited distribution range and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 4600 km ², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 32 km². It is known from between 5 and 10 locations and the population is suspected to be declining due to habitat loss driven by expansion of agriculture and infrastructure developments, and illegal collecting for the specialist horticultural trade. It therefore qualifies as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Description
Plants grow on granite rocks or stony flats.
Threats
Habitat loss due to agricultural and infrastructural developments has been recorded near one of the historical populations. About 9% of this species' habitat has been transformed (calculated using GIS). The dwarf form of this species is threatened by illegal collection for the specialist horticultural trade.
Population

The species is widely scattered and rarely common. The population is suspected to consist of fewer than 23 000 plants, and it is known from between 5 and 10 subpopulations. It is suspected to be declining due to illegal collecting.
