This species occurs in fewer than five locations and is potentially threatened by afforestation, crop cultivation and land degradation due to livestock overgrazing and a deleterious fire regime.

Description
Grassy, rocky slopes of river valleys, or at the base of cliffs above river gorges, 1 400-1 800 m.
Threats
The habitat outside of Loteni Nature Reserve is potentially threatened by forest plantations, crop cultivation and land degradation due to livestock overgrazing and a deleterious fire regime.
Population

This is a rare and potentially vulnerable species, restricted in distribution with small populations (Cron et al. 2006).
