Justification
Oedera spinescens is a relatively widespread Karoo endemic with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 37 626 km². It is known from 15 subpopulations and likely still undercollected. Some subpopulations are experiencing habitat degradation as a result of livestock overgrazing but overall decline to the population is not suspected to be severe. This species is therefore assessed as Least Concern.
