Threats
More than 80% of this species' habitat has been transformed into crop cultivation and urban development, and only small remnants remain. These fragments are typically unsuitable for cultivation, but are often overstocked with livestock, causing ongoing degradation. Spreading alien invasive plants, which include woody shrubs and trees, are likely a threat to all the remaining subpopulations.
Population

Seven to ten subpopulations are estimated to remain. However, the population size and trend are unknown. Monitoring is required to determine the size and extent of the population. It is inferred that the population is declining due to habitat loss and degradation.
