Justification
Gnaphalium simii is a very poorly known, and possibly localized species last collected in 1952. The area where it occurs remains botanically poorly explored, and it may be overlooked. It is possibly threatened by overgrazing. It is listed as Data Deficient.

Description
It occupies calcareous vleis.
Threats
Gnaphalium simii is possibly threatened by overgrazing.
Population

This species was recorded to be locally abundant in a calcareous vlei in March 1952 (Hilliard 1983). The current status of the population, and whether any other subpopulations exist, is not known.
