Justification
Pteronia tricephala is a widespread Karoo species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 80 358 km². While there may be some population decline as a result of livestock overgrazing within its very wide range, it is suspected to have sufficient subpopulations occurring on well managed properties for the species not to qualify under one of the categories of threat. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.
