Distribution |
Endemism | South African endemic |
Provincial distribution | Northern Cape |

Threats |
Overstocking of livestock is causing severe, ongoing overgrazing across large areas of the Richtersveld. At one of two known location, field observations indicate that overgrazing and trampling is causing a reduction of vegetation cover, species diversity, and erosion. The other location is also near a livestock outpost, and the species is likely to face similar threats in this area. |
Population |
This species is only known from two localities, and was last recorded in 1962. Recent searches at one of these failed to locate it. It could still occur elsewhere in the Richtersveld, but more surveys are needed to determine the size and extent of the population.
