Justification
Mikaniopsis cissampelina is a widespread, but rarely recorded and poorly known species. It has no severe threats and is not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

Range
This species is widespread across the eastern escarpment of South Africa, from the Soutpansberg to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Drakensberg, extending to Pirie and the Amathole Mountains It also occurs in Zimbabwe.

Description
It is a climber in forest.
Population

This species is known from only a few, widely scattered records. It is possibly overlooked as it flowers in winter. The population is not suspected to be declining.
