EOO 2335 km², plants at an estimated 10 to 15 locations continue to decline due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.

Description
Renosterveld-fynbos transitions on lower sandstone slopes as well as alluvial sandy flats.
Threats
Most of this species' habitat remains intact, however, there is ongoing loss and degradation due to agricultural expansion and overgrazing in places. At least one known subpopulation is likely to be lost to expanding crop fields (N.A. Helme pers. comm. 2014).
Population

This species is locally common in suitable habitat. It is known from only a few records, but is very likely to be under-sampled and more common than records indicate.
