Diosma pilosa has a very restricted range (EOO 155 km²), with less than five known locations, and potentially threatened by alien invasive plants and too frequent fires.

Description
Well-drained, stony, sandstone soil.
Threats
Potentially threatened by alien invasive species and too frequent fire - this species is a reseeder and therefore potentially vulnerable to shortened fire cycles. One subpopulation near Riviersonderend, known from historical records, is possibly already extinct due to habitat loss to crop cultivation.
